Jeep Cherokee XJ (1984-2001) and Comanche (MJ, 1986-1992) owners frequently deal with unibody cracks behind the steering box and broken factory aluminum spacers—issues exacerbated by suspension lifts, big tires, and harsh conditions that the original design wasn't built for. Our Steering Box Unibody Stiffeners are precision-engineered to fix these problems, welding along the rails to add serious reinforcement and prevent further damage.
CNC-cut from durable 10-gauge cold rolled steel, these stiffeners replace the weak aluminum spacer and repair cracked areas for a stronger, more reliable frame. They install on the inside and top of both driver and passenger unibody rails (note: for outer rail coverage, check our Jeep Cherokee XJ MJ Front Unibody Stiffener). Choose between round or square weld holes for simpler welding, though some models may need minor grinding for fitment. This upgrade not only boosts structural integrity but also helps with rust repair in salty environments, extending your XJ's lifespan on the road or trail.
Proudly fabricated by T-M Fab, your go-to for battle-tested Jeep solutions.
